Salcombe offers all the elements for a perfect British holiday all year round. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is the best town in Devon for a family holiday or a relaxed grown up winter break to walk on the cliffs and explore the local area. You could go walking on the magnificent Bolt Head or just go and enjoy Salcombe's pubs and restaurants, which are less than 5 minutes' walk from the cottage. There are also a number of music festivals to enjoy.
Salcombe offers world class beaches and diving, sailing and water skiing are just some of the watersports to be enjoyed in the area. be arranged very easily, and Salcombe has excellent regattas and music festivals throughout the summer months. A small ferry only 5 minutes from the cottage connects the town with the beautiful white sand beaches of east Portlemouth, and children will love crabbing off the estuary walls at the end of Island Street. The area is a mecca for surfers. Discovery surf school based in bigbury offer excellent group and 1 to 1 tuition - great fun and brilliant instructors - there's a good cafe on site for those wanting to watch rather than surf...
The area is also great for angling, and there are three excellent golf clubs are situated within 15 minutes of Salcombe in Thurlstone, Dartmouth and Bigbury.
